Instructions
In this lab, you will create a short slide presentation consisting of 5 slides using Microsoft PowerPoint. Try to make your slides neat looking and not messy.
-
Choose a topic for your presentation related to your major that you can present some information about.
-
Go to PowerPoint, create a new, blank presentation (having a single blank slide to begin with), and save it to your flash drive following the normal pattern: John Smith Lab 4 My Point. Be sure to save frequently!
-
Set a slide Theme (pick one with a non-white background).
-
The first slide is the title page. Type in the main title for the presentation. Type in a subtitle as well.
-
Create a second slide. Type in a title and three or four points (phrases or sentences which give information related to the title). For this slide, don't change the fonts, colors, or other formatting that come from the Theme you chose.
-
On this slide, highlight a key word in each point by changing its color, font, and size.
-
Create a third slide. Type in a different title and three or four points of information related to it.
-
Using Custom Animation, cause each point to Fly In one at a time as the mouse is clicked when the presentation is run. (The title should appear alone first, then one point per mouse-click.)
-
Create a fourth slide. Type in a different title. Delete the box where the points would go.
-
On this slide, Insert a picture (a photograph, not a clipart) which has something to do with the title of this slide. Create a text box under the picture and type in a sentence as a caption which explains the picture.
-
Using Custom Animation, cause the picture and the caption to Appear (ie. not fly in) together with a single mouse-click.
-
Create a fifth slide. Type in a different title. Delete the box where the points would go.
-
Insert a clipart object (use Web Collections to get a greater selection). The clipart should be resized so that it is fairly small (less than an eighth of the screen, but not invisible).
-
Using Custom Animation, cause the picture to: 1) fly in from one side, 2) grow to at least double its size, 3) rotate once in place, all the way around 360°, and 4) fly out a different side. The whole sequence should be initiated by a single click.
-
On each of the five slides, set a different Transition.
-
View the entire presentation from the beginning and make sure you included everything and that it all works like it is supposed to.
-
Save your presentation (be sure it is named using the usual pattern: John Smith Lab 4 My Point )and use the Drop Box to submit it.
